LexisNexis Embraces Gwabbit and Updates for MS Office Integration

Gwabbit , an automated e-mail contact capture and customer relationship management software provider, announced a reseller agreement with LexisNexis that adds Gwabbit Enterprise Server onto Interaction, a CRM application for professional services. With the Gwabbit add-on, LexisNexis hopes that Interaction customers will automatically extract current and up-to-date contact information from the signature block of e-mail messages and import them directly into Interaction.

The Gwabbit Enterprise Server was originally developed for Skadden Arps to solve a real-world problem of how to automatically capture current and accurate contact information and keep a CRM up-to-date. The Enterprise Server does not use the same process as the Gwabbit add-in to Microsoft Office and the BlackBerry. The server-based code captures the message block of incoming e-mail as the messages arrive into the law firm's message store without human intervention, i.e., opening a mail message and capturing the signature block of a contact. The automatically captured contacts from the server process are then imported into Interaction and available for further relationship management.

Whether you look at the Gwabbit add-in to Office or the Enterprise Server add-on to Interaction, the contact-capturing grabber tool is a slick way to capture contacts on the fly and keep your own address book up to date, or the law firm's contacts current for business development. But Gwabbit isn't the only good news at the LexisNexis exhibit at the International Legal Technology Association annual conference in Nashville (booth 603).

LEXIS FOR MICROSOFT OFFICE

LexisNexis also announced new innovations for Lexis for Microsoft Office that will leave you, well, inside Microsoft Office more often than not when doing legal research and drafting transactional agreements.

Last year, leveraging the technology used for Lexis Search Advantage, LMO provided information and services from LexisNexis, the web, and the law firm's document management system to Microsoft Outlook, Word, and SharePoint desktop applications.

Each Work Schedule will describe, if applicable, the deliverables that “COMPANY NAME” is obligated to furnish to Client hereunder (collectively, the “Deliverables”), the acceptance criteria for each of the “COMPANY NAME” Deliverables (the “Acceptance Criteria”) and the completion criteria, if any, to signify completion of each phase of a project.
