When the thought came to me to leave the church my mother brought me up in and go to a place that would be showed to me, I assumed I had been studying too much. “Okay Anna, pull yourself together,” I said to myself. “That command was to Abraham to leave his father’s house, a place of idolatry. Your mother’s church is not a place of idolatry; it’s a place of worship. You’re active in several areas of ministry, surely God isn’t telling you to pack up and leave.” On Sunday afternoon following service, one of the church mothers approached me. She said, “Baby, God’s got a great work for you to do but you’ve got to leave this place and go where you can be trained.” Where would I go? Is God really telling me to leave? How will I know when I’m at the place where He wants me to be? After several weeks of pondering and prayer I packed up and began my journey of faith. Since Abraham went south, I traveled south listening, looking and trusting God to lead me to the place He wanted me to go.In the process of my travels, I learned to discern God's direction, the experience of his heart for people to see and love others as He does, and be a part of His plan to meet needs and leading many to faith in Him. I also felt God's heart for me by the breast cancer crisis ----, personal family conflicts, long-term unemployment, failure, sin, and the need for forgiveness. It is in my current tour that I came to understand the place that God led me to the. It's the same place, it leads to Abraham, a place of relationship with Him. Jesus has made it possible (through His death, for our sins, and His resurrection) for each of us to experience a personal relationship with God. What must one do to experience this connection with the Almighty? A-admit your need for a Savior; B-believe that Jesus is the Savior, and C-commit yourself to God asking Him to be the leader of your life.

I Worship YOU, Almighty GOD

This coming Sunday evening we will have an opportunity to worship together in song to the Almighty God and Father of all. I will be directing us in what I pray to be sincere, heartfelt worship to God. You know, there's something special about worship - in all its forms - that bring us into communion with God in ways that are indescribable. I would think that many feel the way I have in times past. Sometimes I feel as if I am not worthy to stand before you and direct the type of impeccable worship I feel the Father deserves. However, this is why God chose stories like the one in Isaiah 6 to record. You see, when Isaiah was before the Lord, he felt the need to cry, "Woe to me! I am ruined!" Isaiah stated he was a man of unclean lips and he lived among a people of unclean lips. Isaiah was a sinful man, just like you and me. And then the Bible describes one of the angels flying to Isaiah with a live coal in his hand. He touches the coal to Isaiah's lips thus taking all guilt away and his sin being atoned. When we truly see the Lord for who He is in His majesty, His holiness, His beauty - well, we are struck with awe. We all of the sudden feel as if we're unworthy and when we realize we are not like Him, our

natural response would be to say, Woe is me!" But through Jesus, as the angel did in Isaiah's story, our lips and hearts are touched by the coal from the altar and we are made clean. Because of the precious blood of Jesus, we are allowed into the Holy of Holies! The curtain was ripped. He made possible for us, what was not possible on our own. Through all of this, our response should be similar to that of Isaiah's in chapter 6 and verse 8: "Here am I! Send Me!"

God has always called His people to - "Turn your hearts to the Lord!" Will you do that with us this Sunday evening? "How great is the love the Father has LAVISHED on you - that you would be called children of God." I John 3:1 . That's what we are! Let's join hands this Sunday evening and lift up the Father as we praise His name! Great worship isn't created on Sundays. Great worship is the result of a life lived for Christ Monday-Saturday. No matter how well you did or didn't do.....be ready to kiss the coal Sunday night. I am looking forward to it. Can you tell?
