Nonesuch Farm to Close, owners to hold sale — Maine News ...

BANGOR, Maine — After seven years in business, Nonesuch Farm B&B at Six Mile Falls has closed.

Owners Jim and Mary Louis Davitt will hold a Good Home Goods Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and Sunday, Aug. 21, at 59 Hudson Road, directly across from Six Mile Falls. The sale will include cookware, bath and bed items, furniture and picture frames. The owners will share proceeds from the sale with the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter and Spruce Run, the domestic violence agency serving Penobscot County.

BANGOR, Maine — The National Alliance on Mental Illness , Maine, is sponsoring a free Family-to-Family Education Program specifically for families of people diagnosed with mental illness.

The course will cover schizophrenia, mood disorders ( bipolar disorder and major depression ), panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and other major mental illnesses in addition to offering coping skills such as handling crises and relapse, basic information about medications, listening and communication techniques, problem-solving skills, recovery and rehabilitation, and self-care.

BANGOR , Maine — Kit Soden and violinist Aliza Thibodeau will host a unique musical performance at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug.17, in the Storyroom the Bangor Public Library.

Thibodeau, a native of Bangor, traveled through Europe with his partner Kit Soden performing songs from the CD Soden, "Like A Dancer Unstrung."
