We usually visit in late April before our APs expire on May 1st, plus our niece Jessica would be celebrating her 22nd birthday on April 26th. Therefore, I decided that we would go the last weekend of April to combine both of these events. The only problem with these dates is that the Resort should be pretty busy due to the end of the Spring Break crowds mingling with the beginning of the Food & Wine Festival crowds. Plus MouseAdventure is that Sunday and would increase crowd levels within the parks, even if theyre not riding the attractions. So, Im going with the expectation of large crowds and will try to avoid the bottlenecks whenever possible! Lodging: As usual, I made reservations at the Anaheim Del Sol Inn on Harbor Blvd. (a 5-minute walk from the parks). I originally made a reservation for 4/23 4/27 (total for 4 nights = $400), but then added a second reservation for 4/22 (total = $90) when I decided to fly down on Wednesday evening after work instead of Thursday morning. Everyone else lives near San Diego, and we would see them at some point during our stay. Transportation: When I originally booked our airfare in mid-February on Southwest Airlines from Sacramento to Orange County, it cost $299 round-trip for the two of us. However, a couple of weeks later I noticed that the return trip had gone down $10 so I rebooked it to give us a total credit of $20. Shortly thereafter, I noticed the trip down had gone down $6 so I rebooked it again to increase the credit to $32. Then in mid-March, I noticed that the trip down had gone down another $14 so I quickly rebooked it to give us a total credit of $60. I fully expect to use that credit before in expires next February so I was very excited! I also made reservations with SuperShuttle for travel to/from the motel ($22 round-trip after applying the Entertainment Card group discount).
